Rooikappie Pre-School Centre

 Children and staff at Rooikappie

Rooikappie was established in 1992. Its current Principal, Faranaaz Daniels started as a volunteer there. The Centre is attended by around fifty children, who are between three and six years old. Most of the children are from the nearby Cape Flats, which is a very disadvantaged part of Cape Town. The Centre runs a daily programme, from 7am until 6pm, which provides the children with activities that facilitate their intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. These activities include creative time, music and movement, the teaching of rhymes, story time, and outdoor play. The Centre also provides meals for the children, along with basic healthcare.

We are so happy to have been introduced to Rooikappie, through The Future Factory, another organisation we support in Cape Town. The Future Factory helps Rooikappie too. We are glad to fundraise to support the amazing work that Rooikappie does for the children!

Thank you to UK law firm, Clarkslegal, for sponsoring new pots and pans for the kitchen at the Centre.
