Talleres Apadro

Talleres Apadro was started by a group of parents in 1975 in Villa Allende, Argentina. Their children needed treatment or rehabilitation and they found it difficult to be able to transport their children to the closest city, Cordoba. The organisation now runs a range of programmes for children and adults with disabilities. Talleres Apadro started a music therapy project at their rehabilitation centre, for children with mental disabilities and behavioural problems, and asked CHW for support, to cover part of the costs of this programme. Music therapy is of great benefit to the children. Parents and teachers have said that they have seen so much progress made by the children because of the music therapy. More children would like to join the project.

In 2013, we were able to raise £2,220 to support the programme. The funds were used to buy new instruments and other necessary resources to run the programme, as well as to provide food for the children. We are hoping to raise the same amount for the project this year. This will help again with resources, and will hopefully allow Talleres Apadro to take on more children too. If you want to contribute towards this, please visit this page. A big thank you to all who have supported this project so far!
