Shanghai Bo Ai Children’s Rehabilitation Centre
This Centre helps children with cerebral palsy, autism and other learning difficulties, in Shanghai, China. The founder and director, Gao Ya Li, established it after being unable to find anywhere which could help her son, who was born with cerebral palsy. Around forty children currently come to the centre.
There are a number of ways we want to assist this Centre, as can be seen on our wish list.:
Our Wish List for Shanghai Bo Ai Rehabilitation Centre
New Equipment:
The sort of equipment needed would help with physical and occupational therapy.
Secondhand Equipment in Good Condition:
As it is hard to find the necessary equipment in China, the Centre would be happy to accept secondhand equipment. If you may be able to help us with this, please get in touch!
Help with Shipping the Equipment:
If anyone were able to donate equipment, we would need to get it shipped to the Centre in Shanghai. We could fundraise for this, if necessary, but if anyone involved in shipping would be able to help us by lowering the price, or even shipping it for free, that would be wonderful!
Other Needs at the Centre:
Funds are needed for a variety of things, from maintaining the centre itself, to buying equipment that can be obtained locally.
Volunteer Physiotherapists:
The director, Gao Ya Li, would be delighted if any physiotherapists from the UK, and other countries, wanted to volunteer at the Centre. This is something we will be looking into in the future. However, if this seems like something you would be interested in, please get in touch with us now anyway.
Gao Ya Li has managed to help many children. You can get involved and support her good work.
We will send you information about our projects, events, appeals and fundraising campaigns and volunteer opportunities. (Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.)
