Thank You for Supporting the Children through Gardening

We are very grateful to Alex who has been helping children at lots of different projects! Alex does gardening in her free time and donates the funds she raises through this to CHW. You can see some earlier projects Alex supported here. We want to thank Alex for her continuing help. She is touching the lives of a lot of children!

Alex

Alex, who does gardening to support the children at CHW’s projects.

Some of the funds Alex raised through gardening have previously supported teaching materials for migrant children at Stepping Stones’ programmes in China. Alex’s most recent donations will go towards helping with the teaching materials for the next semester and will also support CHW’s newest project – horse therapy in Argentina. This will allow a child with disabilities, from a poor background, to attend therapy sessions. Below are some photos from these projects and from other projects which Alex has helped.

These photos are from the projects which Alex is currently supporting:

Stepping Stones

Sponsoring teaching materials for the migrant children at Stepping Stones’ educational programmes in China.

Horse Therapy

Project to assist a child with disabilities to receive equine-assisted therapy at Fundación Cordobesa de Equinoterapia in Argentina.

These photos are from projects which Alex has previously supported, with the funds she raised through gardening:

Baby Brian

Supporting a medical procedure for baby Brian, at the Baobei Foundation in China, to help remove fluid from his brain. Baby Brian has made a good recovery!

ORT SA CAPE

Sponsoring places for disadvantaged children in Cape Town to attend science and robotics workshops run by ORT SA CAPE.

Supporting the dental hygiene project run by the Atelier Sacelean Assocation in Romania, funding dental procedures for children from poor families and supplying children with toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Casa Mea

Helping to sponsor an educator, Felicia, to work with the children at the home, Casa Mea, in Romania. Felicia is pictured with some of the children at the home.

Morning Tears

Alex’s contributions helped to fund outdoor tables and benches, as well as a staff tricycle to make it easier to go shopping for supplies, at Morning Tears’ residential centre in China. The centre provides a home for the children of convicts.

Alex has received some lovely feedback from the people she does the gardening for, including the following:

Quote

“…it’s so nice to see that so much is being done for those needy children. The people behind the charity work so hard (like you [Alex]) to raise the funds required and are to be congratulated for all that they do.” – Keith and Ruth

A huge thank you, Alex, for all your time and support for the children!
